Dhaka, 23 September 2018:

Bangladesh Forum Qatar in cooperation with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) organised a seminar on ‘Foreign Direct Investment Opportunities in Bangladesh’ at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha, Qatar yesterday. Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam, MP attended the seminar as chief guest. Head of Business of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Thani, a large number of Qatari investors, business leaders, CEO of banks and financial institutions, and Head of diplomatic Missions in Doha attended the seminar.

Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary), Md. Shahidul Haque spoke this afternoon as Chief Guest at a Seminar organized by Institute of Conflict, Law and Development Studies (ICLDS). The Seminar was titled, “Rohingya Crisis: Response of Bangladesh and the International Community”. It was held at hotel Westin. The Seminar was chaired by Ambassador Muhammad Zamir, Chairman of ICLDS.

Newly appointed Representative of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) in Bangladesh Robert Douglas Simpson has presented his credentials to Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. In accepting the credentials of the Representative of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), the Minister welcomed him to Bangladesh and wished him success in delivering his responsibilities. The Minister assured him of all out support from the government.

18 September 2018: “Nigeria can learn a lot from Bangladesh in the field of agriculture”. This was said by Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Ph.D, Honorable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria when H.E. Mr. Md. Shameem Ahsan,ndc, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria called on with him at his Office on 18 September, 2018. At the outset, the High Commissioner conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Nigerian Minister of State on behalf of the Honorable Minister of Agriculture of Bangladesh.
